As this part of Plunketts Road is now used under permit by a con- siderable number of motor cars belonging to residents in this district, Government has agreed to surface and kerb the road in return for a free surrender of land for road widening purposes.
The estimated cost of the work is $4,000 and a supplementary vote for this amount is requested.

Provision made in Estimates (page 105 sub-head 55) $ 7,000
The provision made in 1935 Estimates is insufficient to meet the demand for new services in Kowloon to the end of the year and a supple- mentary vote for $2,500 is requested.
The expenditure is fully recoverable in fees for meter connections.
The above is to be met from savings under Head 34 Sub-head 50 (1935 Estimates page 101 sub-head 50.)
